KAWASAKI MOTORS ENTERPRISE (THAILAND) CO.,LTD. is in charge of the production and distribution of Kawasaki motorcycles in Thailand. As the motorcycle market expanded drastically, KMT was established as a joint enterprise in 1997 with local corporations in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
It is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI), Japan with KHI possessing a shareholding ratio of 100%. It is considered an important production base of KHI as there is an R&D department for motorcycle product development aimed at the Southeast Asian market in KMT. Motorcycles manufactured here are distributed in Thailand and exported to the other Southeast Asia, Japan, North America, and Europe. In recent years, the KD component parts of a motorcycle are exported to Asia and South America.
